1. The Bank: CMG Mortgage Inc. has partnered with Ameriprise Bank, FSB who will purchase and service the Home Ownership Accelerator after the loan closes. Ameriprise Bank (the Bank) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial, Inc. 2. Welcome kits: You will receive a Welcome letter from the Bank approximately 10 days from the close date on your loan. The letter will contain your account numbers for your Home Ownership Accelerator™ loan and checking accounts. The letter will also include instructions on how to set up online account access, online bill pay and instructions on how to set up direct deposits into your loan account.
3. Checking components: Your checks, Ameriprise MasterCard® Debit Card and the Personal Identification Number (PIN) that allows you to access funds from your credit line at ATM’s and point-of-sale terminals will arrive within 7-10 business days from the welcome letter. All of these will be mailed separately for security purposes. Once your welcome letter arrives, you will have the necessary information to set up your online access and online bill pay. Once you have established your online access you can log onto your accounts 24/7 at ameriprise.com.
4. Deposits: They are what makes this account work. The key to saving interest is to drive down your principal balance (even temporarily) by flowing any cash you aren’t using right now into your account. If your employer sponsors direct deposit, you should set up direct deposit as soon as your account is activated. If direct deposit is not available through your employer, you’ll need to set up transfers online using the transfer feature of your online account access. Be SURE to direct all deposits through the BANK side of your account.
5. Withdrawals: You can write unlimited checks, up to your credit line limit. You can use the debit card for ATM withdrawals up to $1,000 per business day and for MasterCard point-of-sale transactions up to $2,500 per day. The Bank does not impose surcharges for ATM transactions but they cannot control fees assessed by the network operator of ATMs you may use. To help defray the cost of surcharge fees you may incur, the Bank will rebate ATM fee surcharges up to 6 times per month. The Bank participates in a surcharge free MasterCard ATM alliance. There is no charge for making cash withdrawals at these machines. Information on the location of these ATM machines can be found by visiting ameriprise.com/atm.
6. Statements: You will receive a consolidated statement from the Bank with information on your loan account and the checking account associated with the loan. You should receive your first statement no later than 45 days after your loan closing.
7. Additional account names: Adding an authorized account user may be done where the authorized account user being added is not a co-mortgagee. You should contact the Bank at 888-356-1006, they will send you Form HOA-AA (Additional Account User Agreement) to complete sign, and have notarized.
8. Old accounts: We recommend you leave your old checking account in place so that you have a place to cash checks locally and make manual deposits that can be transferred directly into the Accelerator using its online features.
9. Security: Keep your passwords safe and never share them with anyone. Beware of criminals who use official-looking “phishing” e-mails asking for your password. You will never receive an e-mail from CMG or Ameriprise Bank, FSB requesting you to provide your password. The Bank’s customer service team uses the personal information you provided during the loan process to identify you. Some clients have had trouble accessing their account when incorrect information was entered on the loan application. If you suspect this has happened, call the CMG Client Liaison for help.
10. Account Questions: If you have questions about how your account works or how to maximize the benefit of your account, you should call or email the CMG Client Liaisons at 866-659-8989 or hoaclient@cmgmortgage.com. The Client Liaisons cannot access your account directly. For questions about specific transactions in your account, call Ameriprise Bank customer service at 888-356-1006.
